In the news article this women named Beth Amiro loves to go thrifting and finding old pieces of clothing her friend found the coat that was her grandmothers she states “I'm not a super spiritual person, but I legitimately knew in my heart and in my soul that it was my grandmother's coat” also the lining of the coat had the grandmother initials E.E.H before she was married. It stood for “Elizabeth Eleanor Hood.'' Throughout the articles Beth talks about how her and her grandmother's body are alike “I have a long torso and long arms it fits like a glove”; she believes the coat was owned in the 1930s as its Mitchell Furs which had locations in Halifax and Moncton.
Personally I think thrifting is cool. Plus if you really think about it there must be a million stories to all the clothing in the thrift stores. When I go thrifting I don't really think about what happen, and how this piece of article of clothing ended up here; and the fact that Beth just so happen to touch it is just one in a hundred, “I put it in the pile thinking, you know, I'll get that out again in the winter and take a look at it." it's crazy how she might not have ever found this out. Also I think it takes a certain type of patience to go thrifting because you have to go through everything. I don’t have it, so I barely go even though I enjoy it. Thrift stores are a place to experience culture because the majority of people come from different backgrounds and donate clothes and more to the stores. With everything going on in the world I think it's amazing that Beth found her grandmother's coat and that she feels closer to her.
